Short biography
Professor, Doctor of Musical Arts Robertas Beinaris completed post-graduate studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LAMT) (under associate Prof. R. Staškus); earned the Licentiate of Arts Degree. He honed his skills at the Lyon National Music Conservatoire (under J.L. Capezzali and J. Guichard); pursued the Doctoral Studies at the LAMT (under Prof. A. Vizgirda and Prof. A. Žiūraitytė), which he completed obtaining PhD of Musical Arts Degree. In 2023, he completed conducting studies (under Prof. D. Pavilionis), earning the Master Degree in Orchestral Conducting.
As an oboist, Beinaris has won numerous international and national competitions, appeared with Tuscan SO, Tyrolean Innsbruck SO, Lviv Philharmonic SO, Kyiv Soloists, Kremerata Baltica, the Lithuanian chamber and symphony as well as other orchestras, has given concerts in various countries, has taken part in many music festivals. He often performs works by Lithuanian composers and is the first performer of many of them. He has recorded more than ten CDs. Since 2014, Beinaris has been included in the list of the Buffet Group (France) woodwind company’s most distinguished oboists.
Beinaris serves as the head of the Department of Wind and Percussion Instruments at the LAMT. He organises various wind instrument competitions, festivals and championships. Beinaris is the founder of the Lithuanian Oboe Quintet. Since 2018, he has served as the artistic director of Musica Humana Ensemble. In 2024, he toured the USA with the Ensemble. A recipient of numerous awards, Beinaris organises Kuršių nerija (Curonian Spit) International Summer Festival of Chamber Music and the sacred music festival Su Palaimintuoju Teofiliumi (With the Blessed Teophilus). He often conducts seminars and masterclasses in Lithuania and abroad.
