For 20 years the St. Christopher Woodwind Quintet has participated in various festivals, such as Vilnius, Christopher Summer, ReturnsDruskomanijaIš arti at FIMU (France), and others, and has given concerts in Lithuania, France, Switzerland and Japan. The ensemble’s activities are not limited to traditional concerts; the performers organise projects related to other art forms.

The Quintet members are constantly searching for original music that both has not been performed or seldom programmed. Their repertoire includes a number of Lithuanian opuses. This concert will feature works by three French and one Lithuanian composer. In addition to French classics Francis Poulenc and Darius Milhaud, and our contemporary Philippe Hersant the Quintet will present Redditio 2 for woodwind quintet by Vykintas Baltakas.

The St. Christopher Quintet shares the stage with Indrė Baikštytė. She is a laureate of numerous competitions, collaborates with Lithuanian and international performers. The pianist appears a soloist with various orchestras; has performed in many European countries, Canada, Israel. She willingly performs and promotes the work of Lithuanian composers, has participated in recordings of CD featuring music of Šenderovas, Latėnas, Balsys, Juozapaitis, Nakas, Martinaitytė among others. Baikštytė is a Doctor of Arts, a professor at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
