About
Egidijus Buožis is a jazz pianist, composer, producer and professor of jazz studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. His repertoire ranges from well-known jazz standards to original compositions using elements of bop, heavy bop, cool, fusion, ethno-jazz and acid jazz. The pianist was included in the Guinness Book of World Records for performing the world’s longest original solo jazz composition (72 minutes, 2015, Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania, Vilnius).
The uninterrupted flow of one continuous original composition is a unique and rarely heard format of the solo concert of Egidijus Buožis, celebrating his anniversary.
In the concert, the pianist will combine his original compositions into a unit, fusing various musical styles harmonic language and sound aesthetics of which reflect academic, contemporary, folk, Latin American music and traditional jazz.
