When and where did gospel music originate? Why is it called that? What language it is sung in? Is it hymn or song? How has gospel music changed from being created and sung by slaves to being broadcast by radio stations today?

All these questions and many more will be answered with musical illustrations by the ensemble Vilnius Voices and its leader Kristina Žaldokaitė, accompanied by Vilimas Norkūnas’ keyboards. The ensemble will invite you to discover the music born in slavery, which gave the world one of the most freedom-infused musical styles.
