About
Asta Krikščiūnaitė is one of the most prominent Lithuanian soloists, capable of creating a celebration on stage for herself and the audience. Celebrating 40 years of her professional career, she invites to mark it together with a group of her current and former talented students. The programme of this festive concert includes a host of the most beautiful opera numbers (in addition to arias and duets, the audience will also be treated to a quintet and a sextet!) and some 20th-century music.
Asta Krikščiūnaitė graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she studied solo singing under associate Professor Aldona Vilčinskaitė. Krikščiūnaitė began her career at the Klaipėda Music Theatre, but her performances immediately attracted the attention of listeners, critics, and various competition juries.
Krikščiūnaitė’s repertoire embraces opera, oratorio, cantata, and song genres. She sings solo parts in various large-scale works and has delivered many memorable roles in musical theatres of Lithuania. Krikščiūnaitė has collaborated with various symphony and chamber orchestras in Lithuania and abroad, is often invited to various festivals and to perform new works by Lithuanian composers, initiates performances and recordings of historical Lithuanian music. In addition, she is a beloved teacher, has educated many generations of renowned vocalists.
