About

Having won the hearts and ovations of Lithuanian audiences, the energetic duo of brothers Lucas and Arthur Jussen return to the National Philharmonic Concert Hall to give a recital. This tandem is one of the most impressive on the international scene. Conductor Michael Schønwandt playfully described playing with this duo as ‘like driving two powerful BMWs at the same time!’

Jussen brothers have appeared with the world’s most famous collectives, such as the Concertgebouw, Boston, Philadelphia, Montreal, Sydney, Singapore, Shanghai, São Paulo, Monte Carlo, Elbphilharmonie, and other symphony orchestras. The duo has collaborated with renowned conductors, including Christoph Eschenbach, Andris Nelsons, Manfred Honeck, Jukka-Pekka Saraste, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and many others. The record company Deutsche Grammophon has signed an exclusive contract with the Jussen brothers; their albums have received excellent reviews. Their 2022 CD Dutch Masters won the Edison Klassiek award.

The duo will perform a programme spanning several eras: from the Viennese classic Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the Romantics Franz Schubert and Robert Schumann, to the French Impressionists Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, and the contemporary German composer Jörg Widmann. The following evening, on June 20, the Jussen brothers will perform with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Andrzej Boreyko.
