About
Grand Trio Vilnius, involving three masters of the stage, violinist and first violin of the Vilnius String Quartet Dalia Kuznecovaitė, cellist Davidas Geringas, and pianist Petras Geniušas, invites the audience to celebrate the most beautiful holidays of the year at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Concert Hall.
Having begun performing together in 2021, Grand Trio Vilnius places particular emphasis on works rarely heard in Lithuania or abroad. In 2022, the ensemble recorded both of Johannes Brahms’ sextets (arranged for piano trio by T. Kirchner) and gave numerous concerts featuring works by Anatolijus Šenderovas, Bronius Kutavičius, Faustas Latėnas, and other Lithuanian composers.
The festive concert will feature excerpts from British composer Engelbert Humperdinck’s famous opera Hänsel und Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), Anatolijus Šenderovas’ expressive Trio No. 2, and Franz Schubert’s elegiac Piano Trio in E-flat major, No. 2, one of the composer’s late chamber music masterpieces.
