About
Musica Humana Ensemble, its artistic director and oboist Robertas Beinaris, and other soloists will delight the audience with works spanning various eras, styles, and genres. The programme will feature works by the Viennese composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri, as well as popular works by 20th- and 21st-century masters: the British composer Terence Greaves, the Argentine Ástor Piazzolla, the Ukrainian Myroslav Skoryk, and the Lithuanian composers Juozas Tallat-Kelpša and Algirdas Martinaitis. The two Lithuanians never met in person. The Ensemble and its soloists will be joined by singer Dovilė Kazonaitė, who will perform arias from Mozart’s operas and works by Lithuanian composers.
Flutist Ilona Meija, the Ensemble’s guest from Latvia, is a professor of flute and chamber music at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. She has performed with various Latvian orchestras and regularly leads masterclasses in her home country, as well as in the Netherlands, Italy, and Estonia. Meija is the president of the Latvian Flutists’ Association.
