The 13th Vilnius Festival again invites you to ambitious quality concerts featuring 18th – 21st century music: from Händel’s Messiah to 20th century scores or the world premiere of R. Shchedrin’s Lithuanian Saga. In the context of current changes, the immortal masterpieces of music art will proffer unforgettable moments.
The Vilnius Festival presents the capital’s residents and its guests the world’s eminent artists and masters of western classical music, who preserve and nurture the best performing traditions. The Festival welcomes returning musical giants and public favourites, and salutes new international soloists and ensembles.
The Vilnius Festival’s programme is dedicated to Vilnius – the European Capital of Culture 2009. I believe, that the Festival’s concerts will properly represent the musical space of our city. Wishing all listeners many memorable musical contacts as well as magnificent musical discoveries.
