We welcome you to the eighth Vilnius Festival, one of the biggest musical celebrations in our capital.

Since its conception in 1997, the Vilnius Festival, now a full member of European Festival Association (EFA), has been achieving its objectives – to organise joint projects featuring Lithuanian and European musicians and to consistently observe the best European traditions in musical performance.

This year the Festival has commissioned works from two Lithuanian composers. We will also be intrigued by an opera by Krzysztof Penderecki, enthralled by Polish ballet, and captivated by classical masterpieces and by the sounds of Latin American bossa nova.

I wish you wondrous moments in a versatile world of music, and in the beautiful city of Vilnius and its festival!
