About
Attention! A ticket is required for even the youngest audience members.
The opera for toddlers The Baroque Bird is a touching musical experience for the youngest audience members and their parents. In this performance, Baroque music meets movement, imagination, and the sensory world of theatre. The production invites toddlers and adults alike to experience music not merely as a concert, but as a live, intimate, and playful encounter.
An environment rich in light, fabrics, and bird symbolism is created on stage, where music, singing, movement, and acting merge into a unified narrative. Seated close to the performers, the audience is free to react, move, and explore sound and space.
The Baroque Bird was created by the independent theatre company No Shoes in collaboration with the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society. It is one of the first attempts in Lithuania to create a professional opera production for toddlers: the one tailored to their senses, rhythms, and emotional world.
The performance features adapted arias from operas by George Frideric Händel, Alessandro Scarlatti, Nicola Porpora, and Johann Adolph Hasse. The music is arranged to preserve the beauty of the Baroque style while remaining accessible to the sensitive world of young listeners.
The production funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture
