About
The festival Music at the Jašiūnai Manor will open with a gala concert featuring the Lithuanian Armed Forces Orchestra and renowned opera soloists: soprano Jomantė Šležaitė-Paukštė and tenor Tomas Pavilionis. The festive concert will offer arias from operas and operettas cherished by the audience, as well as hits of Lithuanian pop music – who doesn’t know Jaroslavas Cechanovičius’ Meilės valsas (Love Waltz) or the legendary Algimantas Raudonikis’ Švelnumas (Tenderness)? The concert will also feature works for orchestra by contemporary composers.
Founded in 1991, the Lithuanian Armed Forces Orchestra participates in official events in Lithuania and abroad, representing the Lithuanian state and the armed forces. The 60-member orchestra will perform this time in a slightly different capacity – as a concert ensemble.
