Each of the pieces in this programme is akin to a musical fairy tale, transporting the audience to a world of dreams and fantasies. In this concert for the whole family, young listeners will get acquainted with the genre of opera and the stories told in this interesting genre, much loved by composers. The concert programme will feature overtures from famous operas, opening the door to the magical and enchanting world of opera.

The talented young conductor Adomas Jankovič, a holder of Richard Wagner scholarship, and the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra will invite you to hear how the composers, without words, through a symphonic sonorities, have given voice to the New Year’s fiesta, the adventures of the dashing barber Figaro, the intrigues of love and even the Anglo-Spanish war, how they imagined the flight of the mysterious Valkyries to meet the souls of the dead, and the musical character they gave to the planets and to the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale.
