German Brass around the World

About

German Brass – the legendary German brass ensemble which started its creative activity back in 1974 as a brass quintet. Currently German Brass consists of 11 musicians of the highest caliber who also work in major German symphony orchestras and/or as university professors. During an amazing career lasting exactly 50 years, German Brass has performed in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and other European countries, organized concert tours in China, Latin America, USA and other parts of the world and recorded more than 20 CDs, DVDs.

German Brass succeeded in creating “diversity in unity”, i.e. a unique and unmistakable collective sound. The ensemble plays chamber music with the symphonic grandeur and creates dynamics that only brass instrumentalists can.

Their repertoire includes all stylistic directions and genres from Scheidt to Shostakovich, from Dixieland to Bossa Nova. The programs include arrangements of classical works, adaptations of timeless works and compositions especially created for the typical sound and technical brilliance of the German Brass ensemble.
