After pianist Maxim Lando’s concert, The New York Times wrote: “A concert that displayed brilliance and infectious exuberance”; the Glover Festival called him “one of the most brilliant and imaginative young pianists to emerge in recent years”; and Bechstein World stated: “One of the most powerful pianists I have ever experienced.” 

Lando first made international headlines in 2017 when he performed at Carnegie Hall alongside Lang Lang, Chick Corea, and the Philadelphia Orchestra, conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin. This concert paved the way for the 14-year-old to perform with renowned orchestras around the world. In 2024, his victory at the prestigious Cleveland International Piano Competition further secured his status as a rising global piano star. The pianist has performed at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, the Louis Vuitton Foundation and Salle Cortot in Paris, the Beijing National Centre for the Performing Arts, and many other venues around the world. Lando’s album Into Madness, recorded with German violinist Tassilo Probst, was awarded the International Classical Music Award (ICMA) in 2023 as the Best Chamber Music Recording of the Year.

Lando is a passionate enthusiast of chamber music and unconventional repertoire. The audience will be able to experience that at this concert: with an exceptionally interesting and diverse programme, the pianist, together with the Tytuvėnai Festival, the M. K. Čiurlionis House in Vilnius, and the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society, invites to celebrate the birthday of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis.
