About
Three performers, singer Aistė Širvinskaitė, pianist Rūta Blaškytė, and violinist Miglė Dikšaitienė, have formed the ensemble RAMuzika and have already presented programmes of Spanish, French, German, and Polish music at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society. This Sunday afternoon, with the cellist Žermena Kressin joining the trio, the entire quartet invites listeners to enjoy Baroque and 20th-century vocal and instrumental music.
“Summer, the sea, and the sun inspired a new concert programme: I discovered Georg Friedrich Händel’s Neun deutsche Arien für Soprano, Violine und Basso continuo (Nine German arias for soprano, violin, and basso continuo). The lyrics of the arias address the beauty of nature, its fragility, and its connection to the creator of the universe. Then came Antonio Vivaldi’s four-part Sonata No. 2, RV 41 for cello, as well as Concerto for violin No. 2 in G minor, L'estate (Summer), RV 315 from Le quattro stagioni (The Four Seasons). Crossing the Bridges of time to the heart of the 20th century, the works of composer Michel Legrand conquered the heart. Legrand’s unforgettable music for Jacques Demy’s 1964 film Les Parapluies de Cherbourg (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg), starring Catherine Deneuve, Nino Castelnuovo, and Anne Vernon, is truly remarkable. We are presenting all of these musical masterpieces to you, dear listeners,” Širvinskaitė, singer of the trio RAMuzika, introduces the concert programme.
