About

The solemn birthday concert of the Vilnius Karoliniškės Music School Symphony Orchestra is a meaningful celebration of partnership and music, where music becomes a unifying force. Former pupils, for whom this orchestra was their first music school, will also appear on stage. The future members will have the opportunity to hear and feel the special sound of the orchestra. This is a beautiful continuation of tradition and inspiration for the growing generation of musicians!

Established in 2010, and initially operating as a chamber orchestra, it grew into a symphony orchestra in 2018 and is now one of the largest ensembles at the school. More than sixty pupils of various ages are marking this meaningful 15th anniversary with significant creative activities: they have held more than seventy concerts in Lithuania and abroad, performing in major concert halls in Lithuania, Poland, Germany, Austria, Latvia, Italy, and elsewhere. Since 2017, the international youth music festival Skambantis pavasaris (Resounding Spring) has been organized, and the summer creative camp Skambančios dirbtuvės (Resounding Workshops) has become a space for development of new programmes, creativity, and partnership. It is remarkable that renowned soloists of Lithuania – V. Noreika, A. Krikščiūnaitė, E. Seilius, K. Zmailaitė, J. Sakalauskas, T. Pavilionis, J. Milius, oboist V. Palej – participated in concert programmes featuring works by M. Baranauskas, V. V. Barkauskas, and other composers written especially for the symphony orchestra.

Orchestra group leaders: Edita Narmontienė, Ernesta Vanagaitė-Sriubienė, Jolanta Taločkienė, Tomas Vaičiulis, Dainius Rudvalis, Almantas Puidokas
Soloists’ teachers: Viktor Palej, Julita Puidokė, Tomas Vaičiulis
With the participation of the school’s Juniors Choir Cantica (conductor Gražina Gumuliauskienė, choirmaster Sandra Bareikaitė) and the Youngsters Chamber Orchestra (conductors: Rasa Smolinskytė, Domantė Ramančiūnienė)
