About

We probably all know that the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a child prodigy: carefully nurtured by his father Leopold, also a musician, little Wolfgang, at just a few years old, performed at the Austrian imperial court, and spent part of his childhood touring and performing in Italy, France, and Germany. He also began composing at a very early age, which came easily to him, and throughout his life he wrote a multitude of works, several of which, particularly popular ones, will be featured in this concert. The audience will also hear La Veneziana Symphony by Mozart’s contemporary, his so-called rival, the Italian composer Antonio Salieri.

Composer Giedrius Kuprevičius once said: “Mozart’s music holds as many secrets as the number of times you listen to it. Like fairy tales read in childhood, it reveals new meanings and layers of thought with each passing year, posing new questions and awaiting new answers.” Incidentally, it has been scientifically proven that Mozart’s music not only improves memory and the learning process, stimulates creativity, increases work productivity and physical endurance, but also calms, relieves pain and cures many ailments. Therefore, this concert is important not only for children, but also for adults!

The soloists, young pianists Adomas Mažulis and Paulina Jankovska, study at the M. K. Čiurlionis National Art School, where their teachers are Eglė Jurkevičiūtė-Navickienė and Albina Šikšniūtė.
