About

Musica Humana Ensemble is stepping into the new year poetically – with a concert titled Angel’s Breath. This chamber music concert invites listeners to immerse themselves in the subtle and sensual world of Baroque music. The programme features most beautiful Baroque opuses and their transcriptions, as well as a work by 20th-century composer Gerald Finzi, resorting to Baroque forms.

Collaborating with a wide variety of soloists, Musica Humana Ensemble this time shares the stage with tenor Ilya Aksionov, pianist Sonata Alšauskaitė, and double bassist Donatas Butkevičius. The double bassist has transcribed Handel’s Concerto for oboe and orchestra No. 3 in G minor for solo double bass.

Tenor Ilya Aksionov has been enchanting Lithuania with his angelic voice since childhood. Having successfully completed his studies abroad, today this promising tenor captivates audiences around the world with his particularly impressive performances of Baroque arias.

Pianist Sonata Alšauskaitė won the International M. K. Čiurlionis Piano and Organ Competition in 2003. Although she has performed many monumental piano gems as a soloist, the pianist is also a passionate admirer and performer of chamber music.

Double bassist Donatas Butkevičius enjoys performing both early and contemporary music – he is a member of the contemporary music ensemble Synaesthesis, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and Musica Humana Ensemble.
